The Beths verkiezen krom boven recht

Het kwarteit uit Nieuw-Zeeland heeft een nieuw album klaar

The Beths, de band met daarin met zangeres Elizabeth Stokes, gitarist Jonathan Pearce, bassist Benjamin Sinclair en drummer Tristan Deck, gaf de plaat de titel 'Straight Line Was A Lie'. ze verschijnt op 29 augustus en is meteen ook de eerste voor het ANTI-label.

No Joy is de eerste single en video uit dat vierde album van de band. "It's about anhedonia, which, paradoxically, was there both in the worst parts of depression, and then also when I was feeling pretty numb on my SSRI", zegt Stokes daarover. "It wasn't that I was sad, I was feeling pretty good. It was just that I didn't like the things that I liked. I wasn't getting joy from them. It's very literal."

Intussen werd ook al bekendgemaakt dat The Beths het nieuwe album op 1 oktober voorstellen in de Botanique.
