Vijay Iyer kondigt nieuw album aan

De nieuwe muziek komt in april uit.

Vijay Iyer Trio heeft een nieuw album aangekondigd. 'Uneasy' zal op 9 april uitkomen. Bij de aankondiging losten ze alvast een eerste single.

De jazzband, bestaande uit Vijay Iyer zelf, Linda May Han Oh (bas) en Tyshawn Sorey (drum), nam het album op in Oktaven Audio Studio in Mount Vernon, New York. Het vorige album, getiteld 'Break Stuff', was een productie van Iyer, Stephen Crump (bas) en Marcus Gilmore (drum).

Over het album zei Iyer alvast: "My compositions on this album span over the past 20 years and the initial Uneasy project was in the middle of that, 10 years ago. It was hinting at something that’s unstable. We already had precarity and unrest. There’s always been something disturbing going on, and now we see it explosively unfolding before our eyes."
