Vanishing Twin zoekt maanlicht op

Het nieuwe album van de band verschijnt op 15 oktober via Fire Records.

De eerste single uit die nieuwe plaat van Vanishing Twin, het titelnummer, kan je hieronder al beluisteren. Titel van het album is 'Ookii Gekkou', Japans voor "groot maanlicht" (of "big moonlight"). Die titel moet dan staan voor "the sound of ordinary life under a different set of rules, in a place where it's always night."

Het persbericht omschrijft de muziek als "Afrofunk, outer jazz en avant-garde, maar nog steeds geworteld in de traditionele popsong".

Cathy Lucas legt uit: "I moved in with Phil (MFU) in North East London and we started renting a studio nearby. So everything was very focused and concentrated in this very small geographical area. With few distractions we could really get lost in what we were doing, and try to really respond with honesty and imagination to what we've been experiencing."

Het is meteen de vuurdoop voor de nieuwe line-up van de band met zangeres en multi-instrumentaliste Cathy Lucas, drummer Valentina Magaletti, bassist Susumu Mukai en synthspeler / gitarist Phil MFU.
