Tom Morello lanceert nieuw album

Voor de plaat vroeg hij bijstand aan Roman Morello, Serj Tankian, Kneecap en Beartooth.

Gitarist en songwriter Tom Morello heeft een eerste solo-rockalbum klaar: 'Everyone Gets Everything They Want', dat op 25 september verschijnt via Mom + Pop Music.

En uiteraard gaat hij in op thema’s als fascisme, immigrantenrechten en wereldwijde politieke onrust, waarbij hij zijn unieke gitaarspel inzet als joker. De productie was in handen van onder meer Tyler Smyth, Carl Restivo, Zakk Cervini, Dan Carey en Sam Nelson Harris.

En daar hoort ook een nieuwe single bij. Date Night vertelt het waargebeurde verhaal van drie jonge Nederlandse meisjes die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog als spionnen, saboteurs en moordenaars tegen de nazi’s actief waren. Over de single zegt Morellol: I make anti-racist songs for anti-racists. I make anti-fascist songs for anti-fascists. And I make anti-Nazi songs for anti-Nazis. 'Date Night' is really a 'which side are you on?' song. If any of that offends you, do the math. Oh, and Roman Morello wrote the killer riff in this tune."
