RIP Afghan Whigs-gitarist Dave Rosser

Dave Rosser was gitarist bij Twilight Singers, Mark Lanegan, Marc Broussard en dus ook bij Afghan Whigs. In oktober 2016 werd er darmkanker bij hem vastgesteld, hetgeen leidde tot een GoFundMe- campagne waarvoor Greg Dulli ook shows organiseerde.

Het nieuws werd bevestigd door muzikant en producer Rick G. Nelson op de Facebookpagina van zijn band My Jerusalem. GoFundMe-oprichter Keith Hagan drukte het als volgt uit:“Every once in a while a human being comes along that transcends everything: life, art, friendship, wit, music and love. They are among the true ‘one of a kinds.’ Dave Rosser belongs to that category. A New Orleanian for nearly 25 years, he is widely considered to be a true virtuoso guitar player by some of the most influential artists in the industry. …[H]e is also one of sweetest human beings on the planet. His sense of humor and generosity rival his musical prowess.”
