Pink Mountaintops coveren Black Flag

Na acht jaar is er eindelijk weer nieuwe muziek van de band uit Vancouver.

Pink Mountaintops, brainchild van Stephen McBean, ook bekend van Black Mountain, wordt dit keer bijgestaan door muzikanten uit Melvins, Redd Kross en Destroyer.

'Peacocks Pools' is Pink Mountaintops’ vijfde album, komt uit op 6 mei, werd gemixt door Dave Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy, David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails) en is wederom "an eclectic, personal and twisted happening; it sounds crazy, nerdy, funky & funny and also sometimes pretty noisy & rocky - a freewheeling and bombastic emotional rollercoaster, always moving, uplifting and outgoing". Ze noemen het zelf een mix van "alternative country, indie space garage pop and psychedelic rock".

Nervous Breakdown is de eerste singel en is een cover van Black Flag. Keith Morris (Black Flag, Circle Jerks, OFF!) is in ieder geval al zeer positief: “Great job taking a song that’s been beaten to death by numerous punker dunkers and turning it into your own song! BRAVO!!!!”
