Ook Antwerpen krijgt Tindersticks over de vloer

Eerder was er al een concert in het Brusselse Koninklijk Circus aangekondigd.

Vijf jaar na 'No Treasure But Hope' en drie jaar na 'Distractions' brengt Tindersticks met 'Soft Tissue' op 13 september een nieuw album uit op City Slang.

New World moet de weg effenen voor het album en de thema's ("personal/public worlds knocked off-kilter") voorkauwen. De arrangementen zouden aansluiten bij 'The Waiting Room' (2016) en zetten de plaat ergens tussen de band, die zich uitleeft,  Julian Siegels koperarrangementen, Dan McKinna's strijkersarrangements en Gina Fosters soulvolle backingvocals.

De video evenals het artwork werd gemaakt door Stuart Staples' dochter Sidonie Osborne Staples. Staples: "Sid was making these tiny ceramic characters, I asked her to make some of the band. Later I wrote this song 'New world' about somehow trying make sense of this strange world I felt developing around me and these little guys came back into my mind - Lets take them on a stop motion journey across a strange land, from the barren rocks to the bountiful fruit that is not familiar and maybe poisonous (the Durian fruit smelled pretty bad, they are not allowed on busses in some parts of the world!) Sid put the landscapes together and moved the figures, millimetres at a time. Neil took the photographs, we edited as went along."

Op 17 oktober staat de band in de hoger vermelde Brusselse zaal. Op 10 maart 2025 is de Elisabethzaal in Antwerpen aan de beurt.
