Nog deze week nieuwe plaat voor Jeff Tweedy

Wilco-frontman Jeff Tweedy brengt nog deze week een verrassingsalbum uit.

Zaterdag 13 april zal een nieuw album van Jeff Tweedy verschijnen. ‘WARMER’ zal de plaat heten, maar ze zal voorlopig enkel op vinyl beschikbaar zijn. De uitgave kadert in Record Store Day en is het vervolg op ‘WARM’, Tweedy’s vorige plaat die nog geen half jaar oud is.  

Uit ‘WARMER’ is er wel al één track online beschikbaar: Family Ghost. Beluister hem hieronder. De rest van de plaat zal later ook gestreamd kunnen worden, maar wanneer is nog niet duidelijk.

De tien tracks op ‘WARMER’ werden opgenomen tijdens dezelfde sessies als voor ‘WARM’ in The Loft, de studio van Wilco in Chicago. Tweedy zelf verklaart waarom ze toch over twee albums gespreid werden:

"At some point I separated the songs from the WARM/WARMER session into two records with individual character," Tweedy says in a press release announcing the album. "But [I] still tried to keep the overall tone and texture of the combined session consistent. In a lot of ways these two records could have been released as a double LP. WARMER means as much to me as WARM and might just as easily have been released as the first record of the pair."

Op 12 en 13 juni staat Jeff Tweedy met zijn band Wilco in de AB. Op 24 september komt de band naar De Roma.
