Nieuwe single voor Dälek en Adam Jones (Tool)

Als dit duo samen een single (A Heretic’s Inheritance)  uitbrengt, dan gaan we toch even op het puntje van de stoel zitten

Adam Jones, één van de creatieve geesten achter de muziek van Tool, en onze favoriete militante rapcrew Dälek, dat kan alleen maar vonken geven.

Over de samenwerking wist Will Brooks aka MC Dälek te zeggen: “The core of this was built by myself, Mike Manteca, and Joshua Booth. I ain’t big on features on Dälek albums … but this one is different. Listening to the rough of this joint late night, I knew who’s sound would work perfectly. We’d talked about doing something together for a minute now...It begins with this. Peace to my brother Adam Jones from the legendary Tool for adding another dimension to this piece. His guitars and synths say all the things I couldn’t say with my voice, so they got their own section to truly sing on in the final mix. I am humbled to have you on this joint fam, and love how seamlessly your sound fits in our sonic world!”

Tool en Dälek gingen ooit samen op tour en daar ontstond het respect voor elkanders werk. Daar werd waarschijnlijk de basis voor deze samenwerking gelegd. Op A Heretic’s Inheritance mag Adam Jones zelfs een hoofdrol opeisen. Het zeven minuten durende nummer, waarvan de eerste helft volledig ingevuld wordt door Adam Jones over de beats van Mike Manteca, is duidelijk een pareltje geworden.
