Nieuwe plaat Jens Lekman in februari

Jens Lekman kondigde net aan op zijn Facebookpagina dat zijn nieuwe album, ‘Life Will See You Now’ op 17 februari zal verschijnen.

Zijn vorige album, ‘I Know What Life Isn’t’ dateert al uit 2012. Dat het zo lang geduurd heeft, had te maken met de tour omtrent het vorige album, maar ook met het feit dat Lekman zichzelf de regel had opgelegd om niet over zichzelf te schrijven. Dat bleek een hele opdracht en leverde een album op, waarin niemand geïnteresseerd bleek.

Later waren er nog projecten als ‘Postcards’ en ‘Ghostwriting’, die hem terug op het juiste pad zetten. Uiteindelijk begon hij dan in 2015 samen met producer Ewan Pearson aan een nieuw album. Zelf omschrijft hij het als volgt: “It’s an album of stories about people coming face to face with their fears and with the choices they’ve made and have to make. From being a dandelion seed, blaming the wind for where it takes you, to saying the name of your fear three times in front of the mirror. Maybe this is an album about taking responsibility. How sexy isn’t that?”
