Nieuw album voor Stereophonics

De band die voor altijd zal herinnerd worden dankzij Dakota is terug met een nieuw album, een enorme arenatour en een speciale show in Cardiff.

Het nieuwe album van Stereophonics, 'Oochya!' komt uit op 4 maart 2022 en in het VK zal dat alvast gepaard gaan met een tournee langs een aantal grote arena’s waaronder de 02-Arena in Londen.

Nieuwe single Hanging On Your Hinges staat nu online, naast nieuws over een heel speciale show in Cardiff. Daar zal de band spelen op 18 december in het Cardiff's Principality Stadium, samen met speciale gasten Tom Jones en Catfish and the Bottlemen (die dan blijkbaar toch niet splitten).

De eerste single is behoorlijk potig. Het lijkt wel een pot eighties rock in de stijl van ZZ Top met een vleugje ACDC er bij en dat is geen toeval want dit zegt zanger Kelly Jones erover:

“Hanging On Your Hinges was influenced by my love of early ZZ Top and darker stuff like Masters of Reality and maybe some Iggy Pop too and probably nods back to ‘Bartender & The Thief’. It’s the song on this album that says ‘Oochya!’ more than anything else, so it’s something we wanted the fans to hear first. Having done some really emotionally lead and introspective songs on the last album (‘Kind’), we decided to come back with a bang this time, give the fans something to get a little loose to. The album title (‘Oochya!’) was always a saying me and the band used in the studio to mean 'let’s have it', a blast of energy and optimism and that’s what we wanted to get across with ‘Hinges’.
