Niet één maar twee nieuwe singles voor Blood Orange

Op 24 augustus komt ‘Negro Swan’, het vierde album van Blood Orange er aan en Devonté Hynes lanceert in de aanloop daarvan, niet één, maar twee singles, beiden met een clip.

De eerste heet Charcoal Baby en kreeg een clip mee door Crack Stevens. De tweede heet Jewelry en voor de lyric video zat Hynes zelf in de regisseursstoel. Bekijk beide clips hieronder.

Over de plaat zegt Hynes aka Blood Orange:

“My newest album is an exploration into my own and many types of black depression, an honest look at the corners of black existence, and the ongoing anxieties of queer/people of color. A reach back into childhood and modern traumas, and the things we do to get through it all. The underlying thread through each piece on the album is the idea of HOPE, and the lights we can try to turn on within ourselves with a hopefully positive outcome of helping others out of their darkness.”

Op 30 oktober kan je Blood Orange live zien, al moet je er wel voor naar de Melkweg in Amsterdam.
