Lang genoeg gewacht op The Wallflowers

Op 9 juli verschijnt er een nieuwe plaat via New West.

Jakob Dylan, frontman van The Wallflowers, heeft trouwens al laten weten dat er nog meer platen aan komen. Maar tot zolang kunnen we al verder met 'Exit Wounds', de opvolger van 'Glad All Over' (2012). Wel was er tussendoor nog een solo-album van Dylan met als titel 'Echo In The Canyon' (2019).

Hij gaf ook toelichting bij het nieuwe werl: "I think everybody — no matter what side of the aisle you're on — wherever we're going to next, we're all taking a lot of exit wounds with us. Nobody is the same as they were four years ago. That, to me, is what 'Exit Wounds' signifies. And it's not meant to be negative at all. It just means that wherever you're headed, even if it's to a better place, you leave people and things behind, and you think about those people and those things and you carry them with you. Those are your exit wounds. And right now, we're swimming in them." 

De band speelde al een nummer uit de nieuwe plaat in de show van Jimmy Kimmel, zoals je hieronder kan zien en horen.
