Gruff Rhys op zoek naar nieuwe goden

Op 21 mei brengt de frontman van Super Furry Animals zijn nieuwe plaat uit via Rough Trade.

Het zevende album van Gruff Rhys heet 'Seeking New Gods'. Het concept was oorspronkelijk bedoeld als de biografie van een berg, maar de songs en de berg werden uiteindelijk steeds persoonlijker. Daarover zegt hij: "The album is about people and the civilizations, and the spaces people inhabit over periods of time. How people come and go but the geology sticks around and changes more slowly. I think it's about memory and time. It's still a biography of a mountain, but now it's a Mount Paektu of the mind. You won't learn much about the real mountain from listening to this record but you will feel something, hopefully."

Voor deze plaat werkte Gruff samen met de R&D-afdeling van de BBC om zo hun Audio Orchestrator technology te gebruiken om een unieke multi-device luisterervaring voor de fans op te kunnen zetten. Wat dat inhoudt, volgt binnenkort nog.
