De stemmen van The Beach Boys met groot orkest

Op 8 juni verschijnt er een merkwaardig, nieuw album van The Beach Boys. Daarop worden de originele stemharmonieën gekoppeld aan nieuwe arrangementen, opgenomen door het Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in de Abbey Road Studios.

Nick Patrick en Don Reedman produceten de zeventien songs, die de hele carrière van The Beach Boys overspannen. De opnames gebeurden op 8 en 9 maart van dit jaar.

Brian Wilson was alvast enthousiast: "I always knew the vocal arrangements I did back in the 1960s would lend themselves perfectly for a symphony and there is no better one in the world than the Royal Philharmonic. I am both proud and humbled by what they have created using our songs and I hope everyone falls in love with it like I have.”
