De overlevingsdrang van Titus Andronicus

Op 30 september brengt de band een nieuwe plaat, de opvolger van 'The Obelisk' (2019) uit. 

Het zevende studioalbum van Titus Andronicus krijgt de titel 'The Will To Live' en verschijnt bij Merge Records. Frontman Patrick Stickles nam samen met Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Leonard Cohen, The Whole Nine Yards) de productie van de plaat waar.

Eerste single uit de plaat is (I'm) Screwed kan je hieronder al beluisteren. De bijhorende video is van de hand van regisseur Ray Concepcion. Stickles legt uit "In (I'm) Screwed we are introduced to the narrator of 'The Will To Live' at the moment he realizes the walls are closing in. Be it real or imagined, he feels the pressure building on all sides, a feeling to which many of us can relate, I imagine. His faith and fortitude are tested like never before, and the narrative of the album will reveal whether that pressure crushes him or produces a diamond."

Met 'The Will To Live' neemt Titus Andronicus de lusiteraar mee op een reis van angst naar geloof, van woede naar aanvaardig, van verdriet naar dankbaarheid, terwijl het ideaal van Ultimate Rock wordt nagestreefd. Daarvoor putte Stickles uit klassiekers van 'Who's Next' tot 'Hysteria'.
