De hergeboorte van Cymande

Op 31 januari verschijnt het nieuwe album van deze vermaarde, Britse funkband.

'Renascence' luidt de titel van de nieuwe plaat van Cymande. Er staat ook al een Amerikaanse tournee gepland, maar van Europa is nog geen sprake. Chasing An Empty Dream is de eerste single en kan je hieronder beluisteren.

Volgens het persbericht zou 'Renascence' doorgaan waar ze er in 1974 met 'Promised Heights' mee ophielden. En ze zijn nog steeds "politically aware, and spiritually positive with infectious grooves".

Bassist Steve Scipio zegt over de single: "The genesis for this song stemmed from an observation on the kind of world we are living in; reflected in the materialistic focus of today's society and culture. But the song also has a positive message of hope and optimism. A hope that one day society will see sense and pull back from the brink; to once again understand and appreciate the importance of the values that were once held so dear, in shaping a positive future for all."
