Bear's Dens nieuwe is een oudje

Na een korte pauze tijdens het donkere 2021 komt de beer terug uit zijn hol.

Met nieuwe single All That You Are lijkt Bear’s Den terug te keren naar de sound van de beginjaren. En dat is ook zo, want de song werd al geboren tijdens de eerste tour die de band ooit ondernam: The Austin To Boston tour in 2012, een tournee die leidde tot de gelijknamige documentaire waarin Ben Howard, The Stave, Nathaniel Rateliff en Bear’s Den in vijf volkswagenbusjes gevolgd werden op de gezamenlijke tournee. Het nummer was er ook even in te horen, maar werd nooit uitgebracht.

Tot nu dus. En dat is geen toeval, zo leren we van Andrew Davie: “It’s a song fundamentally about hoping for happiness for someone else even if you can’t be the one that makes them happy. It’s also about not being ashamed about looking for that same happiness for yourself.”

“In a way it feels like a mission statement of the band to reconnect with this song from way back when and to perform it unashamedly with a bold and beautiful string arrangement from Sally Herbert and some beautiful performance from some friends of ours both old and new. The opportunity to work with Sally Herbert (Rex Orange County, Florence and the Machine, Liam Gallagher) was a real dream of ours, together with the fantastic Matt Douglas (Bon Iver, Sylvan Esso) on Clarinets/Saxophone and Paul Frith on horns.”
