AC/DC werkt aan album met Malcolm Young-opnames

In november 2017 verloor AC/DC origineel ritmegitarist Malcolm Young. Nu blijkt dat er nog heel wat studiowerk van de man is achtergebleven. En daar wordt een nieuw album rond gebouwd.

De band is namelijk in de studio in Vancouver voor een nieuwe plaat en dat zou wel degelijk met ex-zanger Brian Johnson en drummer Phil Rudd zijn. JAM Magazine liet weten dat op elke track van die plaat Malcolm Young te horen zou zijn. Daarvoor zouden ongebruikte gitaarlijnen, die Young door de tijd opnam, gebruikt worden. Officieel werd er nog niets bevestigd al zou het magazine de info van een "reliable source inside the AC/DC camp” hebben.

Dit is wat JAM Magazine precies schrijft: “Turns out, five years prior to the ‘Black Ice’ LP, AC/DC's 15th studio release, Angus and Malcolm Young lived together where they literally wrote hundreds of songs, many were recorded and have been stashed away until now.

Angus has decided to select the best tracks from those recordings that Malcolm played on and is now back in the studio recording and mixing them with fellow band mates Phil Rudd, Cliff Williams and yes, Brian Johnson on vocals.

At this point, AC/DC have issued no official updates on their upcoming album, but the band — with Johnson and Rudd — were spotted recording at Vancouver's the Warehouse studio early last month. The studio has been AC/DC's studio of choice for their last three albums: 2000's ‘Stiff Upper Lip’, 2008's Black Ice and 2014's ‘Rock Or Bust’.

Het blijft dus nog even afwachten.
