Sigur Rós kondigt aan

Sigur Rós heeft net aangekondigd dat er aanstaande maandag meer nieuws van hen te vernemen valt. Laat het speculeren dus al maar beginnen: een nieuw (live) album? een nieuwe tournee? Zou allemaal weleens best kunnen, gezien de band in zijn aankondiging gebruik maakt van beelden uit de meest recente tournee.

Nu, er komt in ieder geval al iets na 'Kveikur' (uit 2013 alweer). Wat dat iets gaat worden is voorlopig nog een raadsel. De groep liet echter recent al een eerste teaser los in de vorm van ‘Óveður’. 

De Ijslanders leverden met hun track Hoppipolla ook een bijdrage aan 'Planet Earth II' op BBC:

“In Iceland we are blessed with a seemingly inexhaustible supply of wild and untamed places. But even here, in the very furthest flung corners of Europe’s largest wilderness, the scars of human industry are visible, the plans for future encroachments, by dam and smelter, legion.
