‘GodWeenSatan: Live’ op komst

Op 18 november verschijnt ‘GodWeenSatan: Live’, de neerslag van een feestje dat Ween in september 2001 hield om de re-release van ‘GodWeenSatan’ te vieren.

Oorspronkelijk werd nog overwogen om dat concert niet door te laten gaan omdat 9/11 toen net was gebeurd, maar uiteindelijk kwam het er dan toch van. Het is de eerste live plaat van de band sinds ‘At the Cat's Cradle, 1992’?

Gitarist Dean Ween omschrijft de plaat als: "pure catharsis from both the band and the packed crowd. […] As we walked onto the stage the crowd was in a daze, but we came to play that night and needed to deliver in a big way. It was very cathartic on both sides of the stage, for both band and audience. Remarkably, that night, we were able to conjure up the spirit we had when we originally wrote these songs — some dating back to 1985.”
